Why is this PC called the Drunken Cow? Have you seen the Gateway logo? Yup, that's it. Basically, we took our Bandi Tech goodness, mixed it with the good parts our cow had and VOILA!
"The Drunken Cow" was made for a friend of mine who was just tired of his computer looking like a block of metal sitting under his desk. Also, the initial configuration of the PC was good for the time it was bought, but was already lacking power by early 2011. We got to talking and he decided to reinvest on his computer and go all out for his needs; mid level gaming and internet surfing.
Originally, this Gateway PC was built with a fast Intel Core 2 Quad CPU, though the PC was bottle necking itself with its original spinning hard drive, also the GPU it had was just right for its time of purchase. We took out what was not needed and beefed it up with a very fast SSD from OCZ and an nVidia GPU with 1GB of RAM. Using the old hard drive, we bought the same one and create a RAID 1 mirror with it for redundant data backup. Topping it up with the Apevia Trooper Micro ATX case, a couple of LED fans with fan filters and this computer blows its OEM counterpart out of the water. The Drunken Cow... it really isn't that drunk.

Things that we learned while building this PC:
The Apevia Trooper Case is a cramped yet very versatile case. It was used because our client needed those specific measures... Challenge met!
Even though an Intel Core 2 Quad may be "outdated" it can, with the right parts, out perform many computer built today (2011).
Old Gateway OEM motherboards are very gamer friendly and they feature many configurations.
